Jackson’s Valley Campaign — McDowell, Virginia, 1862 As the Confederate forces under Major General Ewell planned an assault on the Union forces in McDowell, they ate suddenly confronted by a Union assault into and around the Jennings Gap. In this fictional engagement, Ewell’s and Johnson’s troops are seeking to disrupt the Union advance and control of the strategic roads through the rugged mountain country. The Union commander, aware of the growing Confederate threat, has deployed his forces to attack, but has no idea that Ewell has arrived to reinforce Johnson!

Battle of Jennings Gap 1862 – American Civil War Wargame Join me for another American Civil War tabletop wargame using my ACW rules, as Union and Confederate forces clash at Jennings Gap, Virginia, in 1862. This fictionalised battlefield recreates the rugged terrain and difficult fighting in part of the Jackson in the Valley campaign, with the action spread across two gaming tables.
